General Guidelines for Submission:

  • Abstracts must be original and must not be or have been published or presented at any other meeting prior to the 6th Biennial Conference - CCC 2025, New Delhi.
  • Abstracts must be submitted online via the website and indicate submission type as "Original Research Paper/ Poster/ Instruction Course/ Debate/ Video Assisted Teaching/ Skill Transfer/ Quiz/ Focus Group Discussion/ Device Demonstration".
  • Abstracts should be no more than 200 words. Tables or figures are not allowed.
  • All abstracts must contain the following information: Aim, Study Design, Methods, Results, Conclusion for Original Research and for all other categories should mention the target audience and summary of key points of expected learning by attendees.
  • Abstract Theme is " Comprehensive cataract surgery". Submissions are invited under multiple categories.

Guidelines for participation in “CCC TRAINER-TRAINEE COMPETITION"
  • This is Surgical Stand off where top Ophthalmologists shall judge passionate Residents who will participate in this competitive clinical and surgical challenge.
  • ⁠Teams will consist of 5 Trainees (postgraduate students) accompanied by one Trainer (faculty or practitioner) from the 6 zones ( North, South, East, West, Central and North-East)
  • ⁠It is mandatory for the teams to register for the conference to be able to participate.
  • ⁠In the 1st Round, each team will be provided with a microscope, a pantry of surgical instruments, gloves, OVDs etc before the surgical stand off. Each participant with take turns to complete the procedure within the stipulated time of 20 minutes.
  • ⁠The Trainer shall present the final surgical performance of their respective teams to the judges followed by a discussion of the case.
  • ⁠The 2nd Round will be Slit Lamp based procedure.
  • The 3rd Round will be a theory based round called Ophthalmology Pictionary, where the teams have to guess the clinical condition.
  • Respective Trainers are allowed to guide / support their Trainees during the surgery or Slit lamp procedure, if required.
  • The session moderators will ensure rules are followed and time limits are respected.
  • The winning team will receive a prize money and a plaque of best team at the end of the competition.
  • Evaluation criteria will be based on both the Trainer as well as the Trainees’ clinical acumen, surgical skills, response to judges’ QnA and adherence to time.

Guidelines for participation in “CCC MAHAYUDDH”
  • This is a ONE OF ITS KIND highly interactive Debate session which will happen in a boxing ring!
  • Teams will typically consist of one postgraduate student accompanied by one mentor who could be a peer, senior colleague, faculty or a practitioner from the respective zone.
  • It is mandatory for the teams to register for the conference to be able to participate.
  • Each topic will have 2 student presenters - one speaking for and one against.
  • The duration of each presentation (for or against) will be for 4 minutes. A 1 min rebuttal time will be provided to each presenter followed by 2 min QnA by the judges.
  • The presentation may be in any creative format, with / without a powerpoint support.
  • Respective mentors are allowed to guide / support their presenters during the judges QnA and in rebuttal, if required.
  • The session moderator will act as a Referee, overseeing the debate, ensuring rules are followed and time limits are respected. The moderator will also manage the QnA and rebuttals and provide final remarks.
  • Each individual debate will have a winner announced by winner’s hand raising by the moderator. The entire session will have 2 of the best teams – “THE CCC YODDHAS”
  • Evaluation criteria will be based on the content of presentation, presentation skills, argument strength, response to judges’ QnA and adherence to time.
  • The stage will have a boxing arena theme with the participants required to wear robes over their attire during entry onto the stage, accompanied by their mentors. The robes and gloves will be provided by the organisers.
  • The participants are preferred to wear a non formal attire (T shirts with shorts / tracks / non formal pants) as closely resembling a boxer’s as possible but as comfortable and suitable to the participant. The attire can be worn over their normal attire as well if so preferred and convenient.

Submit your abstract for the 3-minute innovative video:
  • The theme of video must be ‘Innovation’
  • At least one author must be a member or have applied for ISMSICS membership.
  • Primary author must register for the conference.
  • Use only images, music, and animations with proper permission.
  • Clearly state all ethical aspects, permissions, and conflicts of interest in the video.
  • The presentation has to be only a video with or without voice over.
  • Video exceeding 3 minutes will not be considered for evaluation
  • The presenter has to present the video in the hall.

    Evaluation will be based on:
  • Originality of idea
  • Scientific rigor
  • Practical utility
  • Overall presentation
  • Top 2 videos will receive prizes, awarded only to the presenting author.
  • No change in presenting author allowed after abstract acceptance.

Eye Spy Champions League: Competitive Clinical Imaging Challenge
  • Open to all postgraduate students in Ophthalmology (MD/MS/DNB).
  • Participants compete in teams of 3.
  • Competition Format:
  • The event is divided into 3 Rounds, increasing in complexity:

  • Round 1: Visual Eye-Q (Elimination)

    Multiple Choice Questions based on:

  • Clinical photographs (e.g., slit-lamp, fundus images)
  • OCT, FFA, B-scan ultrasound, corneal topography, Visual fields, radiological images
  • 20 questions, 30 seconds per question
  • Top 10 teams proceed to the next round

  • Round 2: Rapid-Fire Face-Off (Finale)
  • Format: Live Diagnostic Showdown
  • Buzzer-based timed questions
  • Participants are shown: Complex multi-modal images (e.g., FFA + OCT + VF combo), Rare conditions or mimickers

    Participants must:
  • Hit the buzzer within 10 seconds and Provide:
  • Diagnosis (Primary)
  • Likely management or next step (if asked)
  • Bonus visual round: “Name that Sign” (e.g., "oil droplet reflex", "cherry red spot")


    Rules & Conduct:
  • All responses must be submitted/delivered within the stipulated time.
  • Judges' decisions are final and binding.

    Scoring & Judging:

    A panel of experienced faculty in ophthalmology will judge rounds 2.

    Criteria include:

  • Clinical accuracy
  • Justification of diagnosis
  • Logical use of diagnostic modalities
  • Awards & Recognition for winners
